Golden sands useful tips about transport and sights

Hit the beach! The Golden Sands beach gets its name because the sands are truly some of the purest and cleanest in the country. The water is warm and there is no dangerous fish species to be aware of (except occasional jellyfish) so enjoy your time in the sun.

Rent a boat. There are plenty of small boats you can rent and there are commercial boats that provide trips. Nothing is better than a boat ride with the sun shining and the breeze blowing in your hair.

The Aquapolis water park is in the north- western end of the resort. It’s quite large and offers 23 water attractions all of which are under the careful supervision of 35 lifeguards.

The promenade is a great place for a brisk morning job or a leisurely evening stroll. There are tons of small shops selling everything from souvenirs to designer labels so shopping is also an option even late at night.
The casinos in the resort are fun and an entertaining way to spend your time. The International Hotel Casino is one of the largest in the Golden Sands.  

big resorts and crowded places tend to be the ideal setting for pickpockets and thieves. Be aware when you are around many people. Keep an eye on your belongings and be conscious of who is around you.

Common sense should let you know that while some of the exchange rates offered on the streets are very tempting, exchanging money anywhere but in a bank is dangerous and most certainly a rip-off.

If arriving to the resort by car, beware when parking. Make sure you don’t park in a restricted area, because your car will be picked up by tow- trucks and you’ll have to pay a small fortune to get it back.

Don’t spend too much time in the sun and drink plenty of water. The sun in Bulgaria, especially during the height of the summer season can get quite strong and in addition to sunburn, it can lead to dehydration and severe burns. Use sun protection and avoid staying out when the sun is strongest.
